How to Find Baseball Card Values

1
Learn about the baseball card. The two things you have to know are which company produced the card and what year the card was made. There are several ways to obtain this information. The name of the card manufacturer (Topps, Upper Deck, etc.) should be mentioned somewhere on the card. The year is sometimes printed on the front or back of the card. If not, look at the stats for the player on the back of the card. Find the last year mentioned in his stats. The baseball card is probably from the next year. For example, if the last year mentioned is 1969, the baseball card was made for the 1970 baseball season. If you're still confused, take the card to your local baseball card or memorabilia shop. A person working there will be able to help.

Purchase a Beckett pricing guide. These magazines are produced monthly and have card values listed for as far back as the Honus Wagner T206. Find the years listed in the magazine. Once you've done this, search for the baseball card company. When you have found the exact year and company, you will be able to read through the listed cards until you come across your baseball card.

3
Sign up on the Card Pricer website. Card Pricer lists values for over 1 million baseball cards. Choose the account that is right for you (either monthly or pay as you go). Once you've done this, return to the homepage. Enter the player name and card information in the text box. For example, if you have a Manny Ramirez rookie card, type in “Manny Ramirez rookie card.” On the new page, click the “i” icon to the far right of your baseball card. You will find pricing information.

Take the card to a professional baseball card collector or buyer. To find one in your area, search through your phone book until you find a baseball card or memorabilia shop. You could also take your baseball card to a convention. Most people there will appraise your card for free.
