How to Find an Umpire in Indiana

Running baseball tournaments in Indiana requires more than finding teams to participate and fields where the teams will be able to play. You also have to find competent and qualified umpires who can keep games moving along at a reasonable pace, make the correct calls and do it without getting belligerent.       Contact the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association. This organization oversees all high school baseball in the state of Indiana and they have contacts within the umpiring community. If you are a high school coach or associated with high school baseball in the state of Indiana, you can call the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association to help you contract umpires for your game or tournament.

      Get in touch with the Indiana Baseball Players Association. If you are running an amateur tournament outside the high school level, the Indiana Baseball Players Association can put you in touch with qualified umpires who have gone through training. This organization can help with American Legion and Babe Ruth tournaments.

      Get in touch with the Indianapolis Adult Baseball League. This league has allowed adult players in Indianapolis metropolitan area to play baseball and it is associated with professional qualified umpires. If you are running tournaments in the Indianapolis area, the IABL can give you a list of umpires to call so you can run your tournament in an organized manner.
