How to Find a Baseball Diamond's Area
Baseball has been called America’s pastime since shortly after its invention in 1856. Some say the game was developed through a combination of European games, such as cricket, rounders and town ball. Others claim it was developed by Abner Doubleday. In the beginning it was known as a game for boys, but later it became interesting to adults as the opportunity to gamble arose. Most baseball diamonds are a square with 90 feet on each side and thus area of 8,100 square feet. To find the area of your baseball diamond, measure to see if it meets these standards.
