How to Make Your Own Football Strip

A "football strip" or a "football kit" refers to the uniform and outfit a soccer player wears. Both are terms used in European soccer (or football) leagues but not understood by most Americans. You could opt to create a homemade kit on your own or use Nike's kit builder, which allows you to customize every aspect of your team's uniform over the internet. Nike's website allows you an easier and cost effective alternative.

      Input "Nike.com" into your web browser or search engine. Select the language you speak and the country you're in from the tab menus that pop up.

      Click on "Nike Soccer" in the bottom left corner of the screen. Go to the "Kit Builder" option. If you're having trouble finding the appropriate pages, put "Nike Kit Builder" into your search engine.

      Select "Customize Your Kit" on the right side of the screen. Choose "Matchday" for official team wear or "Training" for practice strips.

      Enter the name of your team in the cursor field that pops up. Select which portion of the outfit you'd like to start: shirt, pants, socks or even your own personalized ball.

      Add the colors, crest, sponsor, numbers and player name using the menu options. Each piece of clothing can have matching or corresponding colors.

      Click on "Finish" near the bottom right of the screen when you're done personalizing. Save the outfit design and input your name, email and contact information. You'll be emailed a unique code that you can use online or in-store to order and purchase your personalized football strip.
