How to Make a Sports Shaker Bottle

As fall approaches, kids get outside for team sports. Whether your child is playing football, soccer or cheerleading, it's a lot of fun to make a sports shaker bottle to show your team spirit. You can invite the kids to make a bunch of them as a team craft project, and then pass them around at each game to spectators.

Things You'll Need

  • Empty plastic water bottle
  • Small funnel
  • Small plastic pony beads
  • Dried beans or peas
  • Glitter
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon and craft paint in team colors

Instructions

      Make sure the bottle is dry on the inside. Using the funnel, pour a small handful of pony beads and dried beans into your bottle. Using different sizes of beads and beans will give you a different sound. Also, the sound will change depending on how full you make each bottle.

      Pour some glitter into the bottle. Place the cap tightly on the bottle, and seal it shut with the hot glue gun.

      Decorate the outside with ribbon and craft paint in your team colors.

      Make a bunch of shakers. Pass them around to fans before the game. Have everyone shake their bottles all at once when rooting for their sports team.
