One of the best-known rodeo schools in the country, Sankey has been featured in ESPN.com and American Way magazine. The traveling school offers several classes throughout the United States, including locations in New Caney and Lufkin. Sankey Rodeo's roster of bull riding experts includes three-time world champion Adriano Moraes. The school's mission is "to educate cowboys and potential cowboys in the skills it takes to compete in the rough-and-tumble sport of rodeo." A full line of equipment is provided free of charge for use during training sessions. As of 2010, rates for three-to-four-day classes at Sankey Rodeo School ranged from $325 to $435.

Cloud 9 Living

With locations all over greater Houston, Cloud 9 Living offers bull riding classes in New Caney, Gilmer, Lubbock and Carthage. Classes are structured around each student's skill level, taking into account age, athletic ability, energy and ambitions. Both beginners and experienced competitors can find courses consisting of drills, training exercises, classroom sessions and riding. Some equipment is provided during the training sessions, and equipment can be purchased at discount prices as well. As of 2010, a three-day session at Cloud 9 Living costs $445 per person.

Southeast Texas Bareback Riding School

As an affordable alternative, if you're willing to trade the bull for a horse, free classes are offered at the Southeast Texas Bareback Riding School. Students can learn about bareback riding and get hands-on experience with several instructors. Dates for classes vary; scheduling, events and information are listed on the school's Facebook page.
