Bull Riding Events in Louisiana

Bull riding is the highlight event of most rodeos, and its popularity has spawned several professional riding organizations, including the Professional Bull Riders, Bull Riders of America and Championship Bull Riding. These organizations hold events primarily throughout the Midwest and Southwest, including Louisiana.
  1. Angola Rodeo

    • The Angola Rodeo is the longest-running prison rodeo in the United States and features several bull riding events. It started in 1965 in a small, standing-room-only arena built by the inmates. As the event gained popularity, the arena was expanded. A new stadium was built in 2000 that seats 7,500 fans. Rodeo spectators pack the arena for one weekend every spring and five weekends every fall.
