How to Adjust Mathews Bows

Adjusting your Mathews bow is one of the first steps in getting it ready to shoot. Most Mathews bows are draw-length specific, meaning the draw length cannot be changed. All Mathews bows have a 10-pound adjustment range for draw weight. The bow comes from the factory set at peak draw weight.

Use the appropriate allen wrench and turn the top limb bolt counterclockwise to decrease the draw weight. Start with one full turn. You will use either a 3/16 or 7/32 Allen wrench, depending on which model bow you have.

Turn the bottom limb bolt counterclockwise one turn. Every time you turn the limb bolt one rotation, the draw weight decreases 2 to 4 pounds.

Continue alternating turning the top and bottom limb bolts as many as four more times until you reach the desired draw weight.
