While playing a match you have some time noticed that the shuttlecock flight is fast or slow than usual which can be of various causes  and every player should know how to change the speed of feather shuttle in badminton. Firstly how to slow down a feather shuttle in badminton

In total there are 16 feathers in a badminton shuttlecock and to slower the speed of feather shuttle you need to bend the tip of every 4th feather tip outward(shown in picture) which will create friction and ultimately slower the birdie flight, the more you bend the tip of feather more slower it gets.

How to make a feather shuttle fast in badminton

The process is same just bend tip of every 4th feather inward it will make shuttlecock more narrow and reduce unnecessary friction ultimately increasing the speed of the shuttle.

Some important points:-

• Feathers of shuttle are very delicate so bend these tip with light hand otherwise it will damage the birdie
• These things are not allowed in National, international circuit and while you are in a match if you want to make change in the flight always first take permission from the umpire
• Bending feather too much can cause stumble in the flight take care for that
• This technique only work on new shuttle means those whose all feather are in good condition.
