How to Change a Browning A5 Barrel

The browning Auto 5 is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by Browning for sporting clays and game hunting. Many users change their barrel in order to use different chokes tubes. A shotgun barrel will also have to be changed due to corrosion or rust on the unit. If you have a Browning A5 that needs a new barrel, you can change it without much knowledge of the subject or experience with guns.

Instructions

    • 1

Unload the A5 by pulling back on the gun's action lever. This is the lever where you load the shells into the gun. Pull it back multiple times to make sure there are no shells in the gun.

    • 2

Pull the operating lever back all the way to open the breech. Leave the breech open while you work so you safely know that there aren't any shells in the gun.

    • 3

Hold the barrel tightly and then unscrew the magazine cap with your fingers. The magazine cap is underneath the barrel at the end of the gun.

    • 4

Slide the gun's forearm off of the gun's magazine tube. Pull the barrel off of the receiver. Replace the barrel with your new A5 barrel and reassemble your Browning A5.
