Measuring Draw Length
-
1
Stand upright with your arms out to the side and palms facing forward.
-
2
Stretch a tape measure from the tips of the middle fingers to find your wingspan.
-
3
Divide the wingspan number by 2.5 to determine your recommended draw length. For example, a wingspan of 75 inches will be a 30-inch draw length.
Changing Draw Length
-
4
Place the Browning bow in a bow press to release the pressure on the cables, pulleys and bow string. Every Browning bow is made with a series of wheels and cams with adjustable features that can be changed while in the bow press.
-
5
Unscrew the inner cam screw and lock screw with the appropriate Allen wrench. Browning uses a lettering system from "A" to "E" to indicate draw lengths. When the inner cam screw is in the "A" position, the draw length is at the maximum setting. To decrease draw length, place the inner cam screw in the "B" or "C" position. Every letter changes the draw length by 1 inch.
-
6
Tighten the inner cam screws and lock screw. Make the same cam and draw length adjustments on the opposite cam.
-
7
Move the bow string to adjust the draw length by 1/4-inch increments. The post on the cams and wheels will feature a "+" and "-" indicator for the 1/4-inch adjustments. Move the string toward the "+" to increase the draw length and the "-" to decrease draw length.
-
8
Set the draw stop position according to the draw length setting. For example, if the inner cam screws are set to the "B" setting, the draw stop must also be set to the "B" position. The draw stop always is located on the inside of the cam on Browning bows.
