How to Remove a Magpul M4 Stock

The M4 carbine is a shortened version of the M16 rifle. Both guns share many parts, and Magpul Industries carries a line of stocks that fit M4, M16, AR15 and AR10 rifles. These stocks are easily installed and removed.

      Fully extend the stock and depress the release latch. Pull the stock back to fully extend it along the gun's receiver extension.

      Locate the stock-release pin. The release pin is located on the left side of the stock. The pin is under the main arm of the stock, just in front of the release latch used to adjust the stock length.

      Pull down the release pin and remove the stock. Pull the pin down as far as it will go. The stock will slide off of the M4 receiver extension.
