How to Remove the Stock Muzzle Break From a WASR-10

The WASR-10 is a Romanian clone of the AK-47 assault rifle developed by Soviet soldier Mikhail Kalashnikov. Models available to the public are capable of semi-automatic fire only. Many laws restrict modifications to this firearm, but it is possible to replace the muzzle break.

Instructions

Remove the pistol grip from your rifle. Due to federal laws regulating assault-style weapons such as the WASR-10, you must remove the pistol grip on your rifle before you modify the muzzle break.

    • 2

Use a dremel to remove the welded nut cap from the muzzle break. A nut or cap is welded over the muzzle break on factory WASR-10 rifles. Carefully dremel it off until the welding is broken. A spring-loaded pin may also be holding the cap onto the muzzle. Depress the pin, and then slide off the cap.

Remove the muzzle break. Various models may slide off, but most barrels are threaded, so you will have to unscrew your factory break to make room for a new one. Do not replace your pistol grip until you have re-welded or pinned the muzzle cap to the front of the rifle.
