How to Grip for a Gyroball Pitch
A gyroball is a type of pitch used in baseball. The idea is to have the ball spin while in the air, making the seams of the ball less visible and ultimately confusing the hitter as to what type of pitch it is. The spinning action of the ball is also likely to make only partial contact with a bat. The pitch has its own unique delivery, but the grip of a gyroball pitch is the same as for a four seam fastball.

1
Hold the ball so the middle and index fingers are perpendicular to the seams of the ball. The seam should be running across while the middle and index finger are resting "on top" of the seam. The curves of the seam should be facing east-west. The thumb, third finger and pinkie finger should be resting on the sides of the ball.

Wind up for the pitch and rotate the arm so the back of your hand faces you. As the arm is coming down, align the shoulders and hips horizontally.
-
3
Snap the wrist back and keep fingers pointed downward, turning the wrist so the palm is facing inwards as the ball leaves the hand, creating a gyro spin.
