1
Create a frame to suspend the net. Place two 10-foot wooden poles parallel on the ground, positioned 10 feet apart.
-
2
Connect two ends of the poles with a third 10-foot long wooden pole. Lie on the ground between the two posts.
-
3
Drill the poles together in this "u" shaped formation. Position screws between the poles where the two corners are created.
-
4
Build an A-frame to support the netting. Do this by attaching a pole at a 45-degree angle to each of the corners. Stand the frame up and notice how the original "u" formation leans back onto the two A-frame poles to support its weight.
-
5
Tie the net across the back of the frame using the rope. Suspend it from each of the corners, and the horizontal pole at the top of the frame.
-
6
Attach two further nets onto the A-frame. Each one is positioned either side of the baseball cage. Use rope to tie them into place. The extra give in the netting blocks the ball, without allowing it to bounce out and hit somebody.
-
7
Stabilize the baseball net by digging a 1-foot deep hole using the shovel for each of the wooden poles. Then, put each of the frame's legs into these holes. Fill in around each leg, using the soil that was dug out.
