1
Put on a pair of work gloves. Put the bat on the floor and turn on a heat gun. Run the heat gun over the bottom third of the bat. Move the gun back and forth while you rotate the cylinder of the bat. After you have heated the bat for 20 or 30 seconds, wipe it down with an alcohol-soaked kitchen towel. If the bat is new and has never been wrapped before, you do not need to heat it. The heat gun is used to soften the residue left behind after you remove old tape.

2
Allow the alcohol to evaporate.Take a seat in a chair. Hold the bat between your knees, on its end, the knob up. Hold the end of the bat that rests on the floor between your feet. This allows you to wrap the bat with both hands while holding the bat securely with your feet and knees.

3
Wrap a layer of Mizuno tape around the handle of the bat, adjacent to the knob at the end of the bat. Rip the tape and give the handle a second layer in the same place. Place the end of the tape on top of the two layers. Hold the tape at a 30-degree angle in relation to the knob. Begin wrapping the handle. The 30-degree angle position of the tape will spiral your wrapping down the handle of the bat. Spiral wrap down the handle covering 1/3 of the bat, then rip the tape.

4
Start at the knob again, at the same angle, and give the handle a second layer. Wrap the Mizuno tape around the handle of the bat, parallel to the knob, 1/3 of the way down the bat, to cover the ends of your wrappings. Give the bat two layers around the ends of your wrappings. Wrap two layers of tape around the handle, adjacent to the knob, covering the other end of your wrappings.
