Baseball Team Photo Gift Ideas

Baseball teams, such as school or community league teams, usually have a team photograph made during the baseball season. These photographs are sentimental reminders of participation on the team, but they are often relegated to photo albums that don't get looked at often. There are many ways to use a team photo other than in the typical framed photograph, some of which are team pennants, key rings, iron-on transfers and calendars.

  1. Pennant

    • Pennants are triangular, flag-like displays made of felt or other material. There are many companies that will transfer a baseball team photograph onto a pennant with the name of the baseball team and the date. However, you can make your own pennant by purchasing a plain pennant that has a high cotton fiber content in the team's color. Use a computer printer iron-on transfer product to transfer a digital image of the baseball team photograph to the transfer paper. Then follow the instructions of the transfer paper packaging and iron the transfer onto the pennant. If you're making pennants for the entire baseball team, purchase the pennants in bulk at a team supply store, sports store or online retailer specializing in providing objects for craft or personalization purposes.

    Key Ring

    • Plastic key ring blanks can be purchased at craft stores. Resize a digital image of the baseball team photograph to fit the measurements of the key rings you've purchased or use a key ring computer template (see Resources). Print the baseball team photo onto photo-quality paper and cut out the photograph. Insert the photos into the key ring blanks. Consider buying clear double-sided key rings and inserting the team photo so it shows through one side of the key ring and then print the individual player's name and team number onto paper and slip it into the key ring so it shows through the opposite side.

    Pillow or T-shirt

    • Throw pillows or T-shirts featuring the baseball team photograph make practical gifts that can actually be used rather than just looked at. Use computer printer iron-on transfer paper to print a digital image of the baseball team photograph onto the transfer paper. Follow the directions provided by the transfer paper company to iron the transfer onto cotton fabric for use in making a throw pillow (see Resources) or onto a cotton or cotton blend T-shirt. Consider ironing on transfer numbers onto the back of the T-shirt to denote the baseball player's team number.

    Calendar

    • Many stationery stores and printing companies offer calendars that can be personalized with a photo of the baseball team and the team's name. There also are online free downloadable websites (see Resources) that allow you to upload your own digital photo and print calendars in assorted styles. Calendars can be printed in color or black and white and on photo-quality or regular computer paper given your preferences. Professionally printed calendars may come in various styles featuring one team photo or the option to have a different photo for each month.
