Cheerleading Coach Gift Ideas

Cheerleading coaches work extremely hard for their teams. They have to train their cheerleaders, help them bond, help solve their personal disputes with each other, attend to injuries, choreograph routines, coordinate travel, mix music, and many other things. To show your team's appreciation for your cheerleading coach, consider getting them a special gift before the end of the season.
  1. Season Album

    • For a touching and personal gift, you and your team can present your coach with a photo album that contains pictures from throughout the season. Make sure you mix in photos of the team, the team with your coach, competition, and games. At the beginning of the photo album, you can put a poem made by the team, or the signatures of all your team members. Alternatively, you can put the signatures at the end of the photo album.

There are many cheerleading-themed photo albums available from craft and hobby stores--if you can find one, that would be ideal for presenting to your cheerleading coach. If you cannot find a photo album with a cheerleading theme, choose one that reflects your team's colors. You can then embellish the photo album with stickers or glitter glue if you would like.

    DVD

    • If your team has the equipment, or a parent willing to tape you all and make the DVD, record your team members giving special messages to your coach. This is a very thoughtful gift, and one that cheerleading coaches treasure for years. Each member should be recorded telling their coach something, whether it's recalling a memory they have from the season, thanking them, or telling them they can't wait to return next season.

You do not have to create a fancy label or cover art for the finished DVD, and there's no need to add special effects menus to the DVD. You can put the name of your team and the year on it, or add a photo of your team together to the cover.

    Gift Baskets

    • If you know what types of food or flowers your cheerleading coach likes, your team can make them a gift basket. Gift baskets are fairly inexpensive, especially when everyone on the team pools their money together. Choose a container or basket to put all of the gifts in. You do not have to use a straw or wicker basket, you can opt for a plastic or fabric container in your team's colors. If you're using a wicker or straw basket, line the bottom with colored cellophane, paper shreds, or tissue paper.

Add any type of items to the basket that your coach enjoys. Ideas for what to include: chocolates, a team-colored mug or travel cup, music CDs, cheerleading DVDs, tickets for a game or show they would enjoy seeing, cookies, muffins and other small baked goods, small potted plants or flowers, flavored popcorn, coffee or tea. Make sure that you add a card to your gift basket that is signed by all of the cheerleaders on your team.

If you want to make the gift-basket more cheerleading-themed, add jewelry, a mug or travel cup, shirt, bookmark, Italian charm or canvas bag with the phrase "Coach" or "Cheerleading Coach" on it. Some of these items can also be customized with the name of your team. This idea is best for new cheerleading coaches, as established ones will already have a ton of cheerleading-related items.
