Sequins
-
Adding sequins in your school's colors to your megaphone is a great way to add sparkle and shine, and it will be especially attractive during night games and events. Sequins are small and can be difficult to apply, therefore, the easiest way to decorate a megaphone with sequins is to cover an area no larger than four inches by four inches with tacky glue and pour a handful of sequins over the area. Shake the excess sequins from the area and repeat the gluing, sprinkling and shaking until the entire megaphone is covered.
Let your megaphone dry at least twenty-four hours before using it to prevent the sequins from falling off.
Glitter Glue
-
Glitter glue adds the sparkle of sequins without the hassle. Simply take tubes of glitter glue in your school's colors and use them to write spirit phrases (such as "Go Team!" and "Let's Go Warriors!"), draw your school's mascot or write your name.
Glitter glue needs at least twelve hours to dry before use to keep it from rubbing and flaking off.
Stickers
-
Stickers come in a wide variety of designs meant for showing spirit. You can find school mascots, letters, numbers, paw prints, spirit phrases and much more from craft and hobby supply stores. Try spelling out your name, school's name or mascot's name with sticker letters.
For a sparkly look, choose glitter or hologram stickers. There is no need to wait between applying the stickers and using your megaphone, so this is a great option if you're limited for time.
Ribbon
-
Ribbons are a long-lasting and classic-looking megaphone decoration. It takes at least two days for the ribbon appliques to set, so keep that in mind when choosing this type of decoration.
Measure the width of your megaphone with a tape measure, and cut pieces of ribbon in your school colors one-quarter inch larger than the megaphone's width. Using a moderate amount of clear-drying tacky glue, apply strips of ribbon around your megaphone and press on them firmly, but not too roughly or the ribbon will slip out of place.
