Easton Bat Specs

Easton Sports produced its first aluminum bat in 1969. The company is one of the leading producers of baseball equipment for youth, high school, college and amateur players. It also includes professional clients such as David Ortiz, Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp. As of January 1, 2011 the BBCOR standard, which measures the bat's resistance when making contact with the ball, is the new measuring stick for metal bats for the National Collegiate Athletic Association. It replaces the BESR standard, which measured the ball's exit speed off the bat. The new regulations apply to high school competition as of January 2012.

  1. Adult Bats

    • Easton produces an extensive line of aluminum and composite bats for adult baseball. Easton's 2011 composite-barrel models include the BBCOR-approved Omen and BESR-approved Speed II. The company's aluminum bats include the Surge XL, the Rival and the Reflex. The Surge XL has a V12 scandium alloy barrel; the Rival features the company's THT100 aluminum alloy barrel; and the Reflex barrel is made from aircraft-grade alloy. All of these bats have a 2-5/8 inch barrel and a length-to-weight ratio of -3. The Reflex model is also available with a length-to-weight ratio of -5.

    Senior League Bats

    • The Omen XLB and Speed XL bats are composite-barrel models designed for senior league baseball. The bats feature Easton's two-piece Connexion technology and have ultra-thin tapered handles with regular flex. The lines include bats with length-to-weight ratios of -10, -8 and -5, and sizes range from 27 to 32 inches. Easton's line of aluminum bats include the Surge XXL, the Rival and the Rampage. The Surge XXL has a THT100 aluminum alloy barrel and a length-to-weight ratio of -10, and the Rampage has an aircraft-grade alloy barrel and a length-to-weight ratio of -7.5. The Rival has a V12 scandium alloy barrel and comes with length-to-weight ratios of -5, -9 and -10. All bats have a 2-5/8 inch barrel, with the exception of the Rival, which has a 2-3/4 inch barrel.

    Youth Bats

    • Easton's composite-barrel youth bats include the Speed II XL and the Omen XLB. Both models feature the company's two-piece Connexion technology and have a length-to-weight ratio of -12 and a 2-1/4 inch barrel. Aluminum bats include the Surge XXL, CV12, Reflex and Typhoon. The Surge XXL is a two-piece bat with a made from Easton's THT aluminum 100 alloy and has a length-to weight ratio of -13. The CV12 is a one-piece bat made from the same material and has a length-to-weight ratio of -10. The Reflex and Typhoon models are both made from aircraft-grade alloy. The Reflex has a length-to-weight ratio of -13; the Typhoon has a length-to-weight ratio of -11.

    Wood Bats

    • Easton's line of wood bats are made with maple or northern white ash. Maple models include the Pro Maple Composite 110 and the Pro Stix Maple 271. The Pro Maple Composite 110 features a composite resin-covered handle for better durability and feel, a cupped end and a clear handle with a black barrel. The Pro Stix Maple 271 has a black handle with a honey-colored barrel and a cupped end. Sizes range from 29 to 32 inches. The Pro Stix 2 and Pro Stix 110 are both made from northern white ash. The Pro Stix has a black handle and black cherry barrel; the Pro Stix 110 has a clear handle with a honey barrel. Both bats have cupped ends and sizes range from 31 to 32 inches.
