1
Enlist the help of your friends or parents to help you manage the team. You cannot successfully manage a team on your own. Once you put your team of coaches together, you can get the word out about your Little League team and find players.
-
2
Schedule practices and games efficiently. Most Little League teams hold practices two to three times a week. These are usually after school, but before it gets dark. Schedule your practices for about an hour. Regular games are usually held on Friday nights or Saturdays. You can create a website for your players to keep track of the practice times and game times.
-
3
Teach fundamentals in practice. Practice is the ideal time to teach your team about the rules and mechanics of the game. One day, you might want to focus on batting techniques, and another, you might want to tackle the rules and regulations.
-
4
Make practices and games a fun atmosphere. Little League baseball is bigger than just the sport. Children will learn how to socialize with each other and the game can boost their self-esteem. When teaching the children techniques, make sure to be patient. When your team loses a game, don't point out all the negative things that happened. Focus on the good things and work on building up the team's confidence.
