Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, square on, and your toes pointing to the basket.

Bend your knees; the lower you bend, the more power you can exert into the shot. Keep your knees in line with your feet and don't bend outwards. Keeping your back straight is important.

Hold the ball in your right hand and rest on your finger tips. Use the left hand to keep the ball steady and rest gently on the inside of the ball.

Raise the right hand, holding the ball in front of your face and bending your elbow at right angles. Keep the elbow tight into your body.

Look just over the ball at the back of the rim (your aim point), and lift up through your legs: pushing the arm straight up to push the ball into the air. As you release the ball, flick the wrist forward towards the basket. Keep practicing until you get the right height and direction.
