1
Place a message supporting your favorite NBA team on your jersey. Use iron-on letters, or stamps or stencils and black fabric paint to say whatever you like. Use a cheers like "Rockets are #1!" or "Go Mavericks!" or "Clippers are the Best!" Or try some alliteration: "All Hail the Hornets!" or "Raptors are Ready!" or "Terrific Trail Blazers." Incorporate your name: "Jason Loves the Timberwolves!" or "Felix is a Nuggets Fan" or "Ellie Loves the Hawks!"; or a specific NBA player's name: "Dunk on 'em, LeBron!" or "Another championship, Kobe!"

Use NBA team colors. You can put just the distinctive combination, such as the Lakers' well-known purple and yellow, on your jersey with fabric paint, in polka dots, blocks of color, swirls or whatever design you choose. Or, use team colors to utilize the above-mentioned message concept or to write just the team's name: "San Antonio Spurs" in black and white, "Celtics All the Way!" in white and green, "Orlando's got that Magic" in white and blue or blue and red for "Detroit Pistons."

Get inspired by the mascot. The NBA has some pretty eccentric characters that represent its teams. Use shoelaces, felt, fabric glue, fabric scraps, buttons, puffy paint, fabric paint, glitter, feathers and more to recreate the mascot on your jersey. Try making Hip-Hop the Rabbit, the large bunny who represents the Philadelphia 76ers. The Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs are represented by The Coyote and Bango the Buck. Blaze the Trail Cat represents the Portland Trail Blazers; Sly the Silver Fox, the New Jersey Nets; and Jazz Bear, the Utah Jazz.
