How to Break in New Bowling Shoes

- Thick socks
- Adhesive bandage
- Scouring pad
- Baby powder

Put your new bowling shoes on with a pair of thick socks. Wear them around the house to reduce stiffness, but beware not to step in anything to ruin the slide factor.

Take your new bowling shoes to the bowling alley after wearing them around your house for two days. Continue to wear the thick socks to continue breaking them in but bowl a few games to see how they slide and feel. Adhesive bandages may be needed for any blisters that have occurred.

Remove shoes after bowling a few frames and determine whether you are happy with the feel. If the shoes still feel stiff around your foot, inhibiting your ability to slide, wear them around the house for another day or two.

Take a scouring pad and rub it over the soles of your new bowling shoes. This will dull down the shoes, making it easier to slide.

Sprinkle baby powder on the bottom of the soles of your new bowling shoes after using scouring pads and before bowling again. Remove excess.
