How to Find Bowling Leagues for Kids

Bowling is a good, clean sport that the whole family can enjoy together. Kids of either sex and all ages can join leagues and earn scholarship points and self confidence. Most bowling alleys have leagues geared toward kids as well as adult and adult/child leagues. With a little coaching, your child could be the next Chris Barnes.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine if your child has special needs. Some larger bowling alleys offer leagues geared toward special needs kids.

    • 2

Call your local bowling alley and ask about the types of leagues it has. Some not only offer youth leagues, but parent/child leagues as well.

    • 3

Ask about coaching. Most bowling alleys offer coaching for beginners as well as coaching for more advanced bowlers to learn techniques.

    • 4

Inquire about the pro shop specials for the youth league. Many times the bowling alley will offer discounts on bowling equipment for league members, so the kids are able to purchase the equipment they need.

    • 5

Check into tournaments for your child's league. Many of them offer scholarship points that can be accumulated over the child's bowling career. These points are awarded for bowling in tournaments, placement in those tournaments and for winning matches. They accumulate in the scholarship fund for use when your child goes to college.
