      Work on your upper and lower body strength. Cranker style is known for being a tough bowling style to master because of the amount of strength it requires. Most people who bowl cranker style work out regularly and practice often to build their body strength.

      Beat the ball to the end of the lane. To bowl cranker style, you must utilize late timing, which means that you should reach the foul line before your ball does. You should stop just short of the line, and then use your muscle to get the ball to the pins.

      Decrease your slide. Cranker style has little slide to it. Crankers do what is known as a "plant and pull," which means that you will pull the ball up for leverage when you're ready to throw it.
