1
Choose the iron-on embellishments you would like to add to your boxing trunks. There are a wide variety of lettering styles and other iron-on appliques available from various retailers.
-
2
Lay out the configuration you plan to use with your iron-on appliques and lettering. Try different things until you are happy with the design.
-
3
Preheat your iron to the hottest temperature suitable for your fabric type. Do not use the steam setting. Begin working in one small area or on a single iron-on applique. Place the applique in the correct spot, and cover it with a lightweight pressing cloth.
-
4
Apply the iron to the pressing cloth directly over the applique. Do not slide or turn the iron on the applique; doing so will distort the image. Use firm, constant pressure for 25 to 30 seconds. Pick the iron straight up and move it to another area on the applique. Repeat these steps until the entire applique has been heated for 25 to 30 seconds.
-
5
Continue to heat set all of your iron-on appliques following the instructions in the previous step. Once all have been heat set, allow your boxing trunks to cool completely.
-
6
Turn your boxing trunks inside out and repeat the ironing process from the inside. Using firm, constant pressure for 25 to 30 seconds, and then move the iron to a different place on your shorts. Allow the now completed boxing shorts to cool completely.
