How to Find a Fencing Club

Fencing is a wonderful sport that teaches hand-eye coordination, flexibility and strategy. Anyone can start fencing at any age, man or woman, boy or girl. Finding a fencing club is the best way for a beginner to become acquainted with the sport whether you want to fence recreationally or competitively. Most people can find a club within driving distance of their home. All clubs will accept new members regardless of how much you know about fencing.

      Go to usfencing.org (see Resources).

      Under the "Resources" tab select "Find a Club Where You Can Fence."

      Choose the appropriate state.

      Choose the geographic division within your state that best describes where you live from the list on the left side of the screen.

      Find the fencing club that is closest to you, and copy down their contact information in anticipation of your visit. Some larger fencing clubs have their own websites, where you can read coach bios and about the history of the sport and the club.
