Detroit Fencing Clubs

Fencing is a fast-paced sport that incorporates three types of swords as weapons; foil, saber and epee. Two of the swords, foil and epee, are point-thrusting weapons while the third, saber, is point-thrusting and a cutting weapon. Students of fencing may learn to use all three swords, but they will usually choose to focus on learning to compete with one weapon. In the Detroit metropolitan area there are several fencing clubs offering lessons, club memberships and tournaments.

The club has members who fence for enjoyment and those who enjoy competing. There are two levels of membership. Associate membership costs less, and full membership which includes pro shop discounts, tournament support and photos.
