How to Get a Yellow Color Off of a Football Helmet
A football helmet takes an enormous amount of punishment during a week of practices. Factor in a game, and a helmet is sure to be pretty ragged by the end of the week. Paint scuff marks from the opposing team's helmet or jersey are common. That's how a black helmet ends up with yellow color on it. Many players consider this their "war paint" or "battle scars" and like the marks. But for those who want a clean look, removing yellow paint color from a helmet is simple.
Things You'll Need

Instructions

1
Wash the helmet with soap and warm water.
-
2
Mix baking soda and water together in equal parts. Soak a scrubbing pad in the baking soda/water paste.
-
3
Scrub the helmet with the scrubbing pad. Gently go over the paint scuff mark in a back-and-forth motion until it disappears.
-
4
Polish the helmet. The scrubbing pad will leave its own scuff marks but these are easy to remove. Apply the polish to the helmet in a short, circular motion, using a rag or polishing pad.
