Football Training Equipment for Kids

Football gives kids an experience to build an understanding of leadership, discipline and teamwork. To teach the fundamentals of football, basic training equipment is needed. With proper coaching, kids can use the equipment to learn the game as a team.
  1. Helmets and Pads

    • The most important training equipment is safety helmets and pads. Making sure the equipment is a good fit ensures the equipment works properly. Since kids are constantly growing, be prepared to trade-in and or buy new equipment as their size requirements change.

    Tackling Dummy

    • Tackling is an important aspect of the game. Kids learn how to safely and effectively bring an opponent down with a tackling dummy. A tackling dummy is a stuffed cylinder bag used for practicing tackling and blocking. Kids can safely learn how to lead with their shoulders and wrap up their arms with a tackling dummy.

    Passing Machine

    • One fundamental of football is catching. A passing machine throws balls to the receiver similar to a baseball pitching machine. With a passing machine a kid can practice without tiring the coaches or quarterbacks arm. With consistent passes it also allows kids the repetition needed to practice their form.

    Agility Ladder

    • An agility is a simple piece of equipment that helps improve players agility, coordination, balance and foot quickness. It is a rope and plastic ladder laid on the ground. Kids perform different footwork drills in the ladder opening. The exercise teaches players to get their knees high and remain balanced in game situations.

    Blocking Sled

    • A blocking sled allows kid's to work as a team to practice blocking. The sled has a spot for several kids to hit the blocking pad and move the sled backward. A blocking sled is good for building strength and working as a team as well as blocking.
