Football Conditioning Drills – Fatigue Fighter

Football Conditioning Drills – Fatigue FighterI attempt to be creative when planning my practice plans for the week.   I try to change things up frequently, make the drills fun, competitive in position and team drills. This is one of the football conditioning drills I enjoy AND so do my players.

I believe I get more out of my players during practice; they are well conditioned for the 4th quarter and install team unity.

I use it for the linebackers, running backs and defensive backs at the end of our football practice right after wind sprints for some form of conditioning .

I pair them up in three lines and set cones out at 10 yards. On the whistle the second player in each line picks up and puts the first guy on his shoulder and sprints as fast as he can to the cone and back with out dropping his team mate.

We run this drill until everyone has completed both parts of the drill. They enjoy the competitive aspect of it and they really don’t grasp how much they are gaining from this 5 minute drill.

Please note:   rbs love to race against the dbs and the lbs usually bring up the rear but sometimes surprise.

The winner gets bragging rights but they are all winners from what they have gained from this conditioning drill.
