How to Get More Power Out of an EZ-GO Gas Golf Cart
Walking 18 holes for a game golf sure would take the fun out of the game. That's why golf carts, like the EZ-Go golf cart, come in so handy. EZ-Go golf carts come in either gas-powered models or electric models that run off of batteries. Gas powered EZ-Go carts use a device known as a governor to limit speeds on the golf cart, primarily as a safety precaution. However, if you want to boost the power of your EZ-Go golf cart, the governor can be adjusted.

1
Open the engine compartment of the golf cart and locate the carburetor. The location may vary depending on the year of the cart, but they are typically mounted in the center of the engine, beneath the air filter.
-
2
Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the cable nut on the spring attached to the carburetor.
-
3
Stretch the spring back by hand until the governor will not engage when the gas peddle is pressed. It may take a few adjustments to reach this point.
-
4
Tighten the cable nut with the wrench when the desired length is reached, and then close the engine compartment.
