1
Get your swing analyzed. Take a friend along when you go to the driving range or play rounds of golf and have them take video striking the ball from the tee. Have the video looked at by a professional golf instructor (likely for a fee). Have the pro break down all aspects of your swing and listen to the tips he offers. Review the video on your own if you don't want to pay for a golf pro's advice and look for hitches or other flaws that may be causing your drives to fall short of your desired distance.
-
2
Take lessons from a golf pro. Research area golf pros and see who specializes in improving golfer's driver shots. Ask acquaintances to determine if anyone has had luck improving their game with a certain pro. Seek that golf pro out and work with her to improve your tee shots.
-
3
Ensure that you driver is the right length for your style of play. Go to your local pro shop and have them measure you to determine the right length of club for your height and arm length. Replace your current driver, if necessary.
-
4
Exercise often, focusing on light strength training. Use free weights and practice your driver motion; this will help you develop more power in your swing. Add cardiovascular exercises, such as running or bicycling to strengthen your legs, which will also help lengthen your drives.
-
5
Watch instructional videos geared to improving your game in the tee box. Pay close attention to the tips offered in the videos, such as proper hand placement, hip movement and follow through,
-
6
Take everything you have learned about your swing out to the practice tee. Practice every chance you get, as much as three times per week. Learn from your mistakes so that you don't repeat them. Remember what you did on the good swings and try to match them as often as possible.
