What Is the Difference Between a Taylormade Burner and a TP Burner?
-
Loft
-
The Taylormade Burner SuperFast 2.0 and Burner TP differ in the club head lofts that are available for each model. The Burner SuperFast 2.0 driver is made for amateur golfers and features higher lofts. The Burner has three lofts available: 9.5 degrees, 10.5 degrees and HT, or high trajectory. The Burner TP has 8.5 degrees, 9.5 degrees and 10.5 degrees available for PGA touring professionals and amateurs.
Flex
-
Another difference between the Taylormade Burner and Burner TP is the availability of shaft flex for each type of driver. The Burner SuperFast 2.0 driver has senior, regular, stiff and extra-stiff flex shafts available. The Burner TP driver only has regular, stiff and extra-stiff flex shafts available.
Club Face
-
Another difference, according to Taylormade, is found in the faces of the two clubs. The club face on the Burner SuperFast 2.0 is more open than the face on the Burner TP. A club face is considered square if the face angle is at a 90-degree angle from the line of flight. The Burner SuperFast 2.0 has the face angled away from the line of flight, which is considered an open club face.
Women Golfers
-
Even though most professional golfers use Taylormade drivers, women golfers do not use the Burner TP driver. The reason for this discrepancy between male and female golfers is that Taylormade Golf does not made a TP driver for women golfers. Women's drivers have shorter shafts, more flexible shafts and weigh less. Taylormade has yet to make a Burner TP driver with specifications suited for women golfers.
