How to Prevent Bag Chatter

Do your golf clubs bang into each other and make noise when you walk the course with your bag on your shoulder? Do you clubs clang together on the back of the golf cart every time you hit a bump? The noise might or might not bother you, but what you hear is bag chatter, the sound of your clubs taking damage. Once your club heads become too damaged, nothing will fix them. If you worry about bag chatter ruining you favorite clubs, two simple products help protect them.

Instructions

  1. Iron Head Covers

    • 1

Purchase a set of head covers for your irons. Search online, at a pro shop or a sporting goods store. Many club manufacturers design specially fit covers for specific club sets. Generic covers also work. Woods should have covers already, but buy covers for those, too, if they are not already covered.

    • 2

Place the head covers on your irons. The covers are numbered so the clubs will be easy to locate. They easily slide on and off the club head.

    • 3

Remove the cover from only the club needed for the current shot when playing. When the shot is done, replace the cover. Club heads will not damage each other anymore.

    Golf Towel

    • 4

Purchase a long golf towel. One that is the same length as the golf bag will do.

    • 5

Attach the towel to the ring on you golf bag. Weave the towel between the club heads until they are separated.

    • 6

Move the towel as needed while playing to prevent bag chatter. The towel might not look as stylish as club covers, but it is an economical way to save your clubs.
