Titleist Wedge Specs

Titleist is a respected and popular golf brand, well known for the golf balls and clubs it manufactures. Since 1996, Bob Vokey has been designing Titleist's high-performance wedges. Vokey design wedges feature spin-milled technology where grooves are cut into the club face to improve spin performance. According to Titleist.com, Vokey's wedges have seen the most play of any wedges on the PGA tour since 2004. These wedges are highly customizable, available in a variety of loft, bounce and size options.
  1. Loft and Lie

    • The loft, or face angle, of the Titleist Vokey wedge comes in several different options. Lofts are available in 48 degrees, 50 degrees, 52 degrees, 54 degrees, 56 degrees, 58 degrees, 60 degrees, 62 degrees and 64 degrees. The lie -- the angle between the club sole and shaft -- of all wedges is 64 degrees.

    Bounce

    • The Titleist wedge with a 48-degree loft has a bounce of 6 degrees; the 50- and 52-degree loft wedges have a bounce of 8 degrees. The 54- and 56-degree loft wedges both have the option of an 8-, 11- or 14-degree bounce. The wedge with a 58-degree loft features bounce options of 4, 8 and 12 degrees. The Titleist wedge with a 60-degree loft has 4-, 7- and 10-degree bounce choices. The 62- and 64-degree loft wedges both have a bounce of 7 degrees.

    Club Length

    • The club lengths of the Vokey wedges vary according to their loft angle. The length is 34.75 inches for the 62- and 64-degree lofts, 35 inches for the 58- and 60-degree lofts and 35.25 inches for the 54- and 56-degree lofts. The club length measures 35.5 inches for lofts that are 50 and 52 degrees; the length is 35.75 inches for the 48-degree loft.

    Shaft and Grip

    • Titleist wedges feature a True Temper Dynamic Gold shaft. This shaft is made of heavy-weight steel and produces a low trajectory and low spin for control. It is ideal for strong, high-ball golfers who want more weight feedback and a lower launch and spin. The shaft has a torque of 1.5 to 1.9 degrees and a weight ranging from 4.48 to 4.66 ounces. The Vokey wedges feature grips made of Titleist Tour Velvet and come in size options of 0.56 inches, 0.58 inches and 0.60 inches.
