Academies are camps that offer academic opportunities while camps are purely athletic. Florida camps include those for golf, tennis, lacrosse, basketball and soccer. New York camps are for soccer, basketball, football and lacrosse. Bradenton camps are set on a 400-acre campus with facilities described by IGM as "state-of-the-art." Ledbetter Golf Academy

    • Leadbetter Golf Academy is located at the IMG Bradenton campus. The academy offers 13 programs for children and one for adults. These programs teach golf fundamentals, mechanics and course management. Subjects covered include balance, concentration, confidence, flexibility and strength. Participants are offered the opportunity to play on a championship-level course. Students will play at least 36 holes of golf each week and may receive mental conditioning and nutrition assistance upon request. All programs at Leadbetter include a competition phase designed to help participants adjust to the pressures of competitive play.

    Athletic Programs

    • Leadbetter offers two week-long golf camps, Golf Camp and Golf Camp Plus Performance. Golf Camp stresses the fundamentals and mechanics of the game while allowing participants to develop through competition. Golf Camp Plus Performance offers all the benefits of the standard camp while adding an element of performance evaluation and improvement through video analysis and regular rounds of golf played under the close supervision of performance instructors. Three- and five-week courses offer similar instruction while adding benefits such as the Total Athlete Program. TAP is designed to maximize student potential through leadership, nutrition, speed, movement, communication and vision training. Short holiday and spring break camps are also available.

    Combination Programs

    • Leadbetter offers five-week golf camps with a number of academic add-on options. For instance, high school and college students attending camp are eligible to take courses in subjects like English, math and science through athletic and academic combination programs. For foreign students, or those with a native language other than English, there are five-week camps combining golf instruction with English as a Second Language, or ESL, courses. Other academic opportunities include SAT and college prep courses.
