How to Use a TaylorMade Trajectory Wheel

Since golf originated in 15th century Scotland, players have struggled to keep the ball on the fairway. TaylorMade has developed a system, employed on its r7 and r9 series drivers, that allows players to move weights to different parts of the club head to help correct slices and hooks. Called movable weight technology, the system can also allow players to better hit fades or draws. Tournament rules generally prevent players from adjusting the weights during a round, so any changes must be made before the first tee.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine if you want your shot to be a draw, which goes from right to left for a right-handed player; a fade, which goes from left to right for a right-handed player; or a straight shot.

    • 2

Turn the trajectory wheel on the club head to the desired trajectory. The picture in the middle of the wheel will show you where to put the weights to get the desired ball flight.

    • 3

Unfasten the weights in the club head that are not needed for your desired flight path, using a wrench that comes with the club. The trajectory wheel will indicate where the weights should be removed.

    • 4

Fasten the weights required for your desired shot using the wrench that came with the club. The trajectory wheel will indicate where the weights should be placed.

    • 5

Take a few practice swings with your driver, making sure the weights are securely attached.
