How to Sign Up for the Playing Ability Test

Complete your member registration on the PGALinks website, www.pgalinks.com. Create a user name and password, which later will be used to sign in to PGALinks. To register for the Playing Ability Test online, you must first become an official member of the PGALinks website.

Go to the homepage of the PGALinks website and click "Playing Ability Test" on the right-hand side of the page. Click the link that reads "Click Here for the PAT schedule and online registration" just above the bottom of the page.

Identify when and where you would like to take the Playing Ability Test. The test can be taken all over the country, so select a location that suits your particular needs. Click "Show Schedule." Determine the golf course and date that best fits your location and schedule. It is also advisable to select a course with which you are familiar as this may boost your chance of passing the Playing Ability Test.

Identify yourself by logging in to the members area of the PGALinks website. Submit your username and password that you created upon becoming a member of PGALinks.

Enter your contact information after signing in.

Select your payment method and after approval, print your confirmation. Your payment method will be verified, but once it is approved you will be registered for the Playing Ability Test. As of 2011, the registration fee is $100.
