How to Install a Golf Cart Headlight

Just like the headlight in a car, a headlight in a golf cart can go unnoticed for a week or more. On the golf course a headlight is rarely used. Since the emergence of the golf cart in other environments in our culture the headlight requires routine maintenance just like other parts of the cart. The golf cart headlight is a conventional sealed-beam headlight requiring replacement of the entire unit not just the bulb. Just like with a car there are a variety of replacement headlights available.

Instructions

Select the right headlight for the golf cart and that makes a pair with the not blown headlight. There are two kinds of headlights: sealed-beam and one's with the changeable bulb. Golf carts commonly have a sealed-beam headlight.

Turn off the headlight switch before you remove the burnt out headlight. Remove the screws around the molding of the blown headlight with a Philips Screwdriver. The headlight will pull out easily.

    • 3

Pull the blown headlight straight out. You will see a power cable attached to the back of the headlight. Unplug the power cable like you unplug a lamp in your house.

Push the replacement headlight into the power cable. Push the new headlight straight and back into its frame. Screw the molding back in place. Turn the headlight switch on to see if both headlights are working on the golf cart.
