How to Mount an Itech X100 Visor

The Itech X100 hockey visor is a half-face shield made of heavy polycarbonate. You can mount it to virtually any hockey helmet in a matter of minutes, providing protection for your upper face. The X100 visor is available in different tints and has scratch- and fog-resistant qualities. You can use this visor for recreational league hockey or in organized leagues in which full face protection is not required.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove your old visor, if applicable, by unscrewing the four mounting screws and pulling the visor forward until it is clear of the helmet.

    • 2

Set the helmet on its back on a soft surface, such as your lap. Holding the helmet in this manner, between your knees, is easier than placing it on a table and working on it.

    • 3

Slide the Itech X100 visor into place so that the four screw holes line up with the mounting holes in the helmet. There are two holes directly in the top center of the visor and one of each side of it.

    • 4

Screw the visor's four mounting screws into place so the visor is secure. Put the helmet on your head and gauge the position of the visor. If you feel it's too close to your face or in jeopardy of touching your nose, slightly loosen the screws off, slide the visor outward and tighten the screws again.
