How to Take Apart a Reebok 8K Helmet

The Reebok 8K hockey helmet is a popular piece of protective gear made by Reebok. It is similar to the Reebok 6K helmet, except that the inside liner comes in one solid piece instead of two connecting pieces, as in the 6K. If the liner inside gets worn from wear and tear, you may wish to take apart the helmet to remove the liner. You can do this by first removing the faceguard, unscrewing the two bolts on the side of the helmet and loosening the liner from the plastic.

Locate the two screws on either side of the helmet, towards the back. Unscrew and remove these with the Phillips-head screwdriver.

    • 2

Unscrew the two screws on the front of the helmet that hold in the face guard.

    • 3

Squeeze your finger in between the helmet and the padding, behind where the face guard was screwed in. Pull on the padding so that the metal screw holes that are attached to the padding come out of the holes in the front of the helmet that they are stuck into.

Squeeze your finger in between the helmet and padding where the two back side screw holes stick out from the padding and through the plastic. Separate these from the plastic and pull the rest of the padding out of the plastic.
