1
Examine your helmet to locate the different areas where the manufacturer's name appears. The company's name or logo is often displayed on the helmet's front, just over your forehead and on either side of the helmet toward the rear.
-
2
Determine the kind of lettering on the helmet. Depending on its brand and age, it might appear to be stamped on with paint or might be in the form of a sticker.
-
3
Scratch the company's name or logo with a razor blade if the logo is the kind that is stamped on with paint. Be careful not to scratch the surface of the helmet. Gently scrape away at the paint, which should slowly begin to flake off the helmet.
-
4
Plug in a hair dryer, turn its setting to "Hot" and let it fully warm up. If the company's logo is on a sticker, aim the heat from the hair dryer at the sticker and slowly move it around the sticker's surface. The heat will begin to break down the glue that holds the sticker in place.
-
5
Lift the corner of the sticker, when possible, with a razor blade. If it lifts easily, it is ready to be removed. If not, continue adding heat. Once the sticker is ready for removal, you'll be able to pry up on its corner and pull it off.
-
6
Dab some rubbing alcohol on a rag and rub the helmet to remove any residual paint or glue.
