Instructions

    • 1

Pour 1 cup of powdered detergent or 1/2 cup liquid detergent into the washing machine.

    • 2

      Add 1 cup of ammonia.

    • 3

Fill the washer with cold water. Hot water can damage the hockey pad material over time.

    • 4

Throw the pads in and wash on gentle cycle. Wash them separately from other garments.

    • 5

Run through the rinse cycle once or twice using cold water.

    • 6

Dry the pads by laying them outside. An out-of-the-way spot indoors, such as in the garage or basement, also works fine. Direct a fan on the pads to speed drying.
