How to Customize Hockey Goalie Pads

Hockey goalies often add flair to their on-ice gear by wearing pads, masks and gloves with custom colors and designs. Many companies offer online customization templates that let goalies select their model, color and graphic of choice. Most templates can be done in a few simple steps.

      Decide which company you’d like to order your customized pads from. Many companies offer this service. You can find one by doing an Internet search for custom goalie pads. Check their websites for color and design availability.

      Click the “Pads” tab under the "goalie gear" header of the website you have chosen. Browse the available models for a pad set that appeals to you. Usually only pro- and mid-level pads feature customization. These pads are typically the most expensive.

      Browse the features on the pad of your choice. The flexibility of pads differs by playing style. Consider your style when selecting a pad set.

      Click on the customization link, which opens the gear template. Select the primary color of your pads, then select the subsequent colors that highlight the pad’s graphic. You can also choose colors for the pad’s straps and sides. Click “Done” when finished.

      Fill in your personal information in the spaces provided. If the option is provided, email your custom template directly to the factory. Otherwise, print the sheet out and take it to a dealer that sells your chosen brand name. A representative will contact you regarding price and turnaround time.
