How to Measure Hockey Gloves

Hockey gloves are a key piece of protective equipment. An injured finger or wrist can hinder your ability to execute even fundamental skills. Many beginners are unsure how a glove should fit and consequently buy the incorrect size. If a pair of gloves are too loose, it makes stick-handling more difficult. If they are too tight, it becomes hard to grip the stick and to keep the gloves on, and also leaves the wrist exposed to injury.

Instructions

  1. Measuring Hockey Gloves

    • 1

Extend the gloves so the fingers are flat and in line with the body of the gloves.

    • 2

Measure from the tip of the middle finger to the end of the cuff using inches as your units. This is the glove's size in inches. Gloves are sized based on this number.

    • 3

Make sure the gloves you are buying cover your forearm up to the edge of your elbow pads. If you prefer a wider range of motion for your wrists, buy gloves with a shorter cuff.
