How to Size Hockey Gloves

Hockey gloves are made to protect the hand and wrist from pucks and sticks. It is important the glove meet up with the elbow pad so no skin is left exposed. This will lessen the chance of injury.

Many of the newer hockey gloves are lined with a wicking material to help keep the liner dry and less likely to breed bacteria. Gloves are made from lightweight, dense foam that protects the hands from impact, but also allows for dexterity in gripping the stick and handling the puck.

Locate a glove size chart. Gloves vary in size depending on the brand or design. Many gloves offer the option to buy the glove in either centimeters or inches. Once you know the exact measurement of the glove you need, you can use the size chart to convert to small, medium, or large depending on the brand of glove.

Try on the gloves you like best. Your index finger should hit the end of the glove when you bend your index finger, as if making a fist. The glove is too small if the end of the glove hits your fingertip while your finger is straight.
