Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation
-
The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation is designed to give youngsters in Philadelphia a chance to play the game as well as get support in their educational pursuits. Snider, the owner of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, started the foundation because, he said, "hockey has made such a dramatic impact on my life, and I would like to give something back to the game that has given so much to me." The goal of the foundation is to teach young people how to play hockey while also instilling self-esteem, the value of teamwork, the importance of hard work and respect for teammates.
