Assembly Instructions for Clam Ice Shanty

A hub-style ice shanty is lightweight and fits into a carrying bag for easy transportation. The roof and wall hubs pop into place with a tug on the center handles. This creates a pop-up ice fishing shelter within minutes. Clam manufactures hub enclosures that accommodate one to eight people. All of the shelters have license holders and draft-sealed windows. Each of the models assembles in the same manner.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the Clam ice shanty on the ground near the area where you want to assemble it. Unzip the storage bag, grasp the end with four metal posts and pull the shanty out.

    • 2

Place the shanty on the ice with the metal posts pointing upward. The gray top will be facing upward. Spread the posts outward to form a two-layer square. Pull the skirt at the bottom out straight from each side to form a square.

    • 3

Grasp the handle in the center of the top and pull the hub upward until it locks the framework into place.

    • 4

Step on the skirt at the bottom on one side. Lift the top of the blue wall directly above the area you are standing on. Grasp the pull in the center of the wall and pull it toward you to pop it in place. Repeat this step to erect the additional three walls.

    • 5

Spread the skirt out on the bottom of the shanty. Remove the four anchors and tie downs from the accessory bag inside the storage bag.

    • 6

Tie one end of a tie down onto the loop in the center of a wall hub. Stretch the tie down out and drill a hole in the ice with an ice drill near the end of the rope. Tie the loose end of the tie down to an ice anchor. Insert the anchor down into the hole in the ice. Repeat this step to anchor the additional three sides of the ice shanty.
